Michele and Shaz at the Grand Okanagan for the unveiling of Shaz's sculpture "Eternal Strength".
I first met Shaz while on the Kelowna Committee for the Okanagan Thompson International Sculpture Symposium. We have four incredible public art works in Kelowna by international artists as a result of that symposium, plus the Kelowna Sculptors Network was born. The KSN Centennial project resulted in five more beautiful sculptures for the residents of Kelowna to enjoy, and "Eternal Strength" is one of those.

Remembrance Day

I have been involved with the First North Glenmore Scouting Group for the past seven years, and this year am helping lead a Beaver Colony. It is so much fun to work with our 25 five to seven year olds. We had a Remembrance Day theme for several of our meetings where we taught the youth about Remembrance Day. One of the questions we asked was "Who do we remember on Remembrance Day?". There were answers of "the soldiers" and "people who died in the war", but my favorite was "the veterinarians!" Our group participated in the Remembrance Day parade and enjoyed a social time with the veterans after the ceremonies.
